I take anti-inflammatories & muscle relaxers. I exercise. I wear a lumbar corset. An MRI test results today show 2 herniated discs. Now I have to go for physical therapy, too.
What other treatments are used for this?
I want to become a physical therapist and i was wondering if anyone knew any good colleges with a good physical therapy program. Please post a link to the college website so I can take a look at it. f.y.i. i am looking for colleges that are more towards the east coast, but i would like suggestions for colleges in the west coast too. What colleges or universities in Pennsylvania offer a degree (masters or doctorate) in Physical Therapy? Looking for mostly central or eastern PA but anywhere will do.

I’m trying to find some schools for physical therapy in the UK, but can’t find any. Does anyone know any? [preferably the ones that are top rated]
Thanks!
ok so yesterday (Wednesday 25) i sprained my ankle in track practice and the sports doctor on campus said it was only mild but to stay off it for a while and not to run in the meet this week. but what i want to know is if it will be ok to go back to running again on Monday and if there are any physical therapy exercises i can do. its still a little swollen and hurts some.
Several years ago, I was having a serious problem with both of my knees (mostly my right). I noticed that the pain occurred whenever I bent my knees and my knees would feel incredibly stiff and painful whenever I would keep them bent for more than 30 seconds. I went to the doctor and they ran a whole bunch of tests and said that it was rheumatoid arthritis. I’m 21 years old. OK, so they didn’t prescribe me anything, except physical therapy, which I didn’t do. Eventually the pain went away (it only really affected me during the cold months). Well, I went two full winters pain-free. This winter was almost pain free, until about a week ago. Only my right knee is in pain this time, but it’s in such worse pain than it ever was before. Should I go back to the doctor? What could they do for me, besides physical therapy?
I have a herniated disc, a bulge in another part of my back or neck, my neck is straighter than it’s supposed to be. My back and neck muscles are all knotted up effecting my motor skills in my legs, weakness in my limbs, I have pain that spreads from my lower back and wraps around my abdomen.
I’ve done physical therapy twice, what they call manipulation, just of full body PT massage, I’ve gone to a chriopractor. I have an apoint at the med rehab clinic in a month. My doctor said I may possibly have to get a cortosone shot. What are some other options? I heard they can put the disc back in place, or surgery. I’m scared about all 3 because of the pain. Has anyone tried massage therapy or accupuncture? Do I have any other options?
My shoulder/neck muscles are so tense/hard, it causes severe headaches, pinched nerves and swelling/pain in my arms. The MRI shows nothing. Aside from every possible med I have used for pain/relaxer, I have used – ultra sound, chiropratics, massage, acupunture, physical therapy and warm water pool therapy.
Does anyone know of anyother treatments?
