Whenever I lay down on my back, there’s a pain in my lower back, like right in the middle, I’m guessing my spine. But I’m not positive. It only happens when I’m laying down in that specific position, but my mom placed a pillow under my lower back, and it felt better. But I want it to go away for good. How do I do it? Does anyone know what’s wrong with my back?
I’m not sure if this is of much help or if it is related to it, but I was in an auto-accident a while back, around the summertime, and I was injured from that. Not serious injuries at all, but I had to go to the chiropractor a lot for physical therapy and what not. I believe that I did have pain in my back then, but I’m not sure if its related with one another. I didn’t know if it could really show up all the way in the winter when it happened in the summer.

This is the situation that has happened to a neighbor of mine: the man was in a auto accident where the other driver admits full responsibility and has full coverage. The injured party has large and serious bruising on his knee and his foot and ankle as a result. He goes to his PCP who refers him to a orthopoedic surgeon who takes x-rays of the ankle and the knee… he finds no fracture but he wants the man to have physical rehab for the ankle.
My question is does the auto insurance of the reponsible party only pay for the medical procedures… or would they also consider pain and suffering? And is that a given?
This neighbor is a 50 year old man who had a stroke many years ago and is currently unemployed… he is also on coumadin (a blood thinner that no doubt contributed to his severe bruising… of course he has the right to drive and is not impaired). He is not the brightest bulb and I want him to be fairly compensated….. he’s a good guy and I am afraid that he might be taken advantage of.
Also, is “pain and suffering” amounts (if it would be warranted) based on a scale of how much the medical procedures cost? In other words, if the medical bills totalled $1000 would he expect 2 or 3 times more than that?
I would really appreciate any answers from anywhere who knows about this type of law… thank you.
To start out i am 19 i live in northern Wisconsin, i am around 120lbs. one year ago this month i was putting up Christmas lights and developed a pain in my right knee. the pain is just above the left side of my right knee cap.
I have been to 2 chiropractors 2 orthopedic surgeons and 2 physical therapists. None of the treatments have helped and my condition is still unknown. I had an MRI done in December of 07 which showed nothing. my latest chiropractor says that the sacrum bone is not staying in place and causing the muscles on the inside of my right leg to pull, resulting in patella femoral syndrome ( miss alignment of the knee cap. Knee cap doesn’t track correctly).
physical therapy has been done to strengthen muscles to pull the knee camp over to the right.
Currently i am working on lateral release therapy to loosen the muscle from my sacrum to my knee. This is also not helping.
The pain is sometimes better on days with physical therapy but does not stay away, and will return if i sleep with my knee bent during the night. The only real relieve from the pain is the Kinesio tapping method. this lasts only as long as the tape will stay on with out having to re-tape. icy hot, bengay, microcurrent, muscle stim, all did not have lasting effects on me.
Since i have gotten no where with the local doctors in my town, I’m turning it over to you. If you have any ideas what this could be or anything that might help please don’t be shy. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Can Someone Who Is Actually A Physical Therapist Tell Me What They Did To Get Where They Are Now?

from what i’m being told, the processes to becoming a physical therapist or a sports therapist are changing and there are many ways to become one. kinesiology for example could put me in a position to pursue therapy further, but how will i know what course will get me the best outcome?
My brother is a very kind person but drugs have taken over his life. He’s irriable and depressed. He recently got beat up so badly he had his jaw broken in 3 places, and he will never fully recover from it, years ago he almost OD on a eight ball, and had to phone my mom shaking and in tears to bring him home. He was in he’s early twenty’s then. Now he’s 29 almost and he’s facing jail time (because him and he’s ex-girlfriend were fighting and it got physical) (that’s not his personialty to hit a girl it’s the drug and the type of girl his with!) and he’s for sure into cocaine as in the police report he had done two lines of coke that night. He;s life is so scary. And he of course thinks he doesn’t have a problem.
He wasn’t raise at all like this. His personality has been stolen because of drugs. And it’s only a matter of time until we find out he’s dead.
Someone I love is in Rehab for alchoholism and I’m missing him like crazy. He’s barely been gone a week and I’m not sure when I’m going to hear from him. I’m just want to know what he’s probably going through.. be it physical, emotional, etc. I’d love to know your personal expiriences if you’ve been there.. please? If your a friend/loved one, how did you handle not having him/her around? Advice would be amazing =)

i have had moderate to severe chronic back pain for several months and recently went to the doctor. after an exam in her office she she prescribed muscle relaxers,prednisone,and percocet. then sent me for an mri. about a week later she called me into her office to review the mri results. she told me that i had minor bulging of my discs but nothing that should cause as much pain as i say i have.she also told me that she saw nothing to explain the leg weakness i have. she refused to refill my prescriptions,and she sent me to a physiatrist who performed an emg. he said that the emg was fairly normal with the exception of a few abnormal nerve impulses. he diagnosed me with myofascial pain,and an inflamed sacrum due to a misalignment. he set me up with physical therapy,but also refused to treat my pain symptoms.
my question is whether or not doctors can toss you around for months and months while you are suffering or do they have to do whatever gives you relief in a timely fashion?
i want to become a physical therapist but i dont know what i want to major in! i want to major in something thts close to PT if you are one what are you majoring in or plan to major in if you are or want to become a physical therapist?
I had ACL reconstructive surgery 6 years ago and have never had any problems with the recovery. Day to day, I never feel a thing in my knee and it feels great.
Today I was in yoga class, spending a significant amount of time in partially-bent-knee positions and did some partner assists in which someone else’s weight was on my body… I didn’t feel any pain or anything in my knee…everything felt fine.
When I got home however the front of my left leg (knee surgery leg) felt very numb, similar to the feeling I had for a few months following my surgery. My knee feels a little tender and sore, but not sharp or painful. No swelling. I put ice on it…
Is this anything I should be concerned about??? What should I do to take care of it?
