If nothing else, it seems to me that the Democrats, instead of looking for ways to cut funding for the troops, would be looking for ways to direct more of those billions towards VA-facilities woes; there are tens of thousands of US troops who need continuous care, (both mental & physical),as well as more hospitals. For God’s sake, some of our troops are having tremendous difficulties returning home after being in that hellhole called Iraq. “Suck it up” you say? Well it might be a little different than when wars meant the use of more conventional weapons. These troops are seeing people cut in half, body parts strewn throughout markets’, or being sucked though buildings or grotesquely burned, not to mention their returning to Walter Reed for ‘rehab’ because of the loss of arms, legs, feet, or having had part of their heads blown off. Not to mention the number of suicides relative to this war. Not to mention troops being asked to pay for ‘uniforms’ or boots that may have blood on them.

hello im sixteen and i found out that i broke a piece of bone off my spine. turns out it didn’t heal right and instead of connecting back to my spine it fused into the scar tissue around it. after a test my doctor said that it was old and wasn’t going to heal rather it will stay where it is. he said basically for example it could like 3 months old or even two years old. and i have dealt with the lower back pain for about six weeks. do you think that surgery would be an option, because he recommend that i get an injection into my spine to make the pain go away.
what is this injection?
if my fracture is old why am i getting this intense pain in my back and side all of a sudden?
im doing physical therapy, do you think that will really help me?
what can be done about this. the only meds im on help me sleep but during the day i just cant take this freaking pain anymore.
can anyone help me out here??

When I went for physical therapy after an auto accident, I told the PT that I was on narcotic pain relievers (Vicodin) for a few weeks, but that I didn’t take any for about 5 days prior to my appointment because I was feeling better. He then told me I was feeling better due to the fact that I still had the medication in my system even after 5 days, and that studies have shown that people have had the narcotic pain meds in their system even after a week. Now, I know that the pain relievers aren’t having any therapeutic effect after 8-12 hours at the most, but I was wondering if this PT really knew better, and he was just trying to BS me so that I’ll sign up for a lot of sessions, or do they really believe this.
I know, it takes two years to get your AA in physical therapy assistant. But, i need to know, how much on avg, will it cost for those two years,and by student loan, how much will it be per semester? Also, to become a assistant, will this need another two more years of college?or in other words, to become a PTA, will i need my BA?
2 Months 2 weeks ago, I went to the ER for severe knee pain and I was told that I had classic symptoms of a meniscus (sp) tear. I am still in pain, there is still some swelling, and it is still tender to the touch. I went to the employee wellness office since it was an on the job injury. I have had an X-ray (no broken bones) and an MRI (Nothing was torn according to this doc). Since was a work related injury, I feel as if they are down playing this injury. After the first visit with this doc, he called it a sprain. After the 2nd visit, he said it was just damaged cartilalige (sp) and it just needed to heal on its own. On the 3rd visit I was told that it was just “growing pains” and I would just have to deal with it for the rest of my life. I am at a loss! I have an appointment with an orthorpedic doc later today. I just wanted to know what you guys think about this. I have also had 3 weeks of physical therapy (3x a week) and on the very last week, we started a new machine. I have been dealing with SHARP pains in 2 new places on the other side of my knee. Honestly, I am a tough person (Hey I had 5 brothers I better be) but I am in more pain than I should be in after an injury that is 2 months old.
The Ortho doc said it was VERY bad cart. damage. I have loose bodies floating around and I have to have surgery to fix it. NOW what do I do?
