Hello! I suspect that I have a hip labral tear. I am a 34 year-old female in moderately good health, but in bad physical shape (ie I don’t get much exercise). No other health problems to speak of.
I recently moved to a house with steep stairs. About a week after the move, I began experiencing a “pop” or “click” in my left hip. I experience mild pain when the leg is at a 45 degree angle. I can walk on it, but there is always a slight discomfort.
I would like to avoid a doctor’s visit by doing some at home physical therapy. Could anyone give me any advice or point me to some imformation that might be helpful?

I am a pitcher. I hurt my shoulder about a month ago and I went to a shoulder specialist. He said he thought he was just swelling in my shoulder and he put me through physical therapy. Yesterday my physical therapist told me she thinks there might be a tear in it. I can move my arm and some movements hurt and other don’t. Does anyone know how much of a pain level a torn shoulder is on a 1-10 scale and how much movement is limited?
says I should have surgery. Anyone know from experience how long my rehab will take before I can return to full duty at work??
please let me know what did or did not work for you. surgery has been suggested by one doctor to shave off bone that’s hitting up against a nerve. i’m afraid of back surgery, after working at a physical rehab place & noticed that back surgery patients ended up addicted to pain killers, deformed, etc.
My insurance company is being pr*cks and they only have given me 20 physical therapy sessions for the year. I had to use 5 pre-op which only left me with 15 post-op. It has been 5 weeks since my surgery and I only have 10 sessions left, I still have not gotten full ROM back yet and I’m worried that I won’t be able to recover in time when my sessions are done. My PT person said that he had never heard of an ACL tear being rehabbed that quickly. The sessions are $90/session and there is really no way of me being able to afford an extra $180/week. My surgeron prescribed 2-3 times/week for 12 weeks after surgery(I have of course only been going 1-2 times). and then 1-2 times/week for the next 12 weeks….what should I do? The insurance company said I could appeal the sessions(would have to go through the appeals process for each session), but I have to take the sessions first and then go through the appeals’ process. Of course if they decide to overrule the appeal, I would have to pay…
I had a MRI performed on my shoulder and the results raised a possibility of a nondisplaced labral tear. I was experiencing pain in my shoulder a few weeks ago but have had no pain lately. I have also been put on a physical therapy program and was wondering when i can workout?
I’ve had left shoulder pain for several months, and finally asked one of the orthopedic surgeons that works in my office if she could take a look at it. Her perception is that is a labral tear. I’ve been exercising and stretching on a regular basis for about 4 weeks and haven’t gotten worse, but not necessarily better either. I’m very careful with exercises and my biggest emphasis is technique and not overdoing load (weight).
The Ortho took the MRI, decided to try Physical therapy twice a week for a month. Going back Nov. 11th, with likelihood of surgery. Therapist said i can still work out, just alter the workouts. So now I’m riding the bike, no more treadmill, trying eliptical. Anyone have any thoughts besides the strength building i do in therapy and at home now?
