Im A Pursuing Physical Therapist Student And Need Guidance In The Steps It Takes To Get There!!?
Feb 16
Ive started on my aa i plan to get both my aa and as and then I would like to transfer into a physical therapy program. However most of them say I need a bachelor’s before i can register. But i need to know if im going in the right direction.
I purchased a massage for my husband and the therapist happens to be a male. My husband does not want a male, and says he prefers that a female do the massage. I think either he thinks of it as a sexual thing or he is homophobic. What other reason could it be?? He wants a strong, deep tissue massage, not a light gentle one….so you would think a man would do this very well. The therapist he would see has a very good reputation and works for a physical therapy rehab company. I’m irritated with my husband for thinking a woman should do the massage. What do you think??
I have severe nerve pain caused by a brain herniation at the base of my skull that I am told may be too risky to operate on due to its exact location and other issues with my health. These nerve pains come in ‘episodes,’ short periods of time (short meaning as little as ten minutes) or longer periods of time (the longest period of time was a full week when I could barely get up out of bed and was unable to lift anything or really move much at all (I couldn’t even eat…I had to drink very slowly through a straw because my throat hurt so much that it would close up as I swallowed and choke me if I was not very careful). I am on Vicodin and am very worried that I may become addicted to it, as it is very addictive and lately I am finding myself using the Vicodin every day at least once (this last weekend, I had to take five of the pills within a three day period just to be able to function on a semi-normality. I have also been on Oxycodone in the past, but was switched to Vicodin as it is not as addictive, though still very addictive.
I would like to cut back on the amount of vicodin I use as much as possible, but if I don’t take the Vicodin, then I cannot function enough to do anything at all, really. Are there any natural herbs or alternative medicines or therapies that might help me? I have had physical therapy in the past, and it did not help at all, even making the pain worse on some days…I am just so worried that I am becoming addicted to Vicodin.
My symptoms include numbing of the hands and feet, severe pain in the joints and muscles, especially the jaw, back, and knees, fatigue, and depression. I would be happy with anything that can help me even just a little…it would mean using the Vicodin that much less, even if it’s only one day less a week or something.
Anyone know? My doctor doesn’t know about alternative medicine and told me that the Vicodin is the best way to go if it makes it so I can function on a daily basis. I need help…I don’t want to be dependent on vicodin all my life.
I am only 24 and I am so worried of the long term effects of being on Vicodin.
Plese forgive if this question doesn’t make much sense. I am on Vicodin currently, and feeling a little light-headed and having trouble thinking today, so I don’t know if I’m making sense, but I want to ask about it now, while I am still able to think at all without pain.
Any suggestions or ideas?
I had my acl surgery 5 weeks ago, I’m doing great in my rehab, but my cuadricep and harmstring are still very week, my physical therapist says that I’m probably not going to get my strength and size back until 5 or 6 month, is there a way for me to get them back faster so and balance the strength of both legs
My friend thinks she has spinal stenosis (it runs in her family.) However, she can’t afford health insurance and doesn’t know of any treatments for it. Is there any physical therapy she could do on her own? Maybe even a special diet? I will be surprised if anyone can answer this one!
I was diagnosed originally with spinal stenosis and a degenerated disk. I went thru physical therapy, was given shots and had nerves lasered in my back. Nothing helped. I seeked a second opinion and was told I did not have those medical conditions. It took until July 2007 and working with my own family physician that I found out what I have. I have osteo arthritis and I am having to have my left hip replaced. I have suffered in pain since the orignal diagnosis and had spent a lot of money on unnecessary medical procedures and medicine. Is there a statue of of limitations of sueing the original doctor who mis diagnosed me?
My lower back has been hurting for the past 8 months. I started going to a chiro thinking it was because of our mattress. Well the pain kept getting worse and I was bearly even able to walk. I finally went to the doctor. He told me I have a herniated disk. He said it was small so he wanted to treat it with physical therapy first. Are there any other options aside from surgery I mean?
