I am 22 years old and within the last 3 weeks I would say, I have been experiencing constant knee pain. It is worse when I bend it and sit for a while then straighten it out and walking up or down staris makes it worse too. Bad knees run in our family…dad has had 6 knew surgeries and 16 year old brother just had his first 8 months ago. I have done physical therapy for my knee before, when I played basketball, but then I quit basketball and haven’t done therapy in about 8 years. When should I see the doctor about it?

I’ve had a pain in my side for a year and a half. It usually only hurts when I sit for extended periods of time greater than 30 minutes. Lately I’ve noticed that it hurts when I come back up after bending over. It’s on my right side and I would guess it’s between about the 3rd or 4th rib from the bottom. I’ve had no blood in urine, no frequent urination, and no painful urination so I’m not too worried about kidneys.
Once I had an x-ray and the doctor said he couldn’t see any kind of infection or broken bones. I had some physical therapy, went to a chiropractor, and have had no success. I would describe it as a stabbing pain that makes me want to lay down. Any clue what it could be?
I have a grandfather in a nursing home and he was told he couldn’t get long term insurance because of a mistake that was made by the doctor saying he went in because of a heart attack. That was not true. He fell and broke his hip and was only going in for rehab. Now the Physical Therapists are telling my grandmother that he will have to stay there indefinitely and he will not be able to come back home. Well one of my grandmothers options is to divorce him because she cannot pay what they want each month. She is trying to get info from a lawyer and see what all her assets are. She doesn’t want to lose everything and i’m doing the best I can since i just got layed off from my job that went over seas. I want to know if their is something that we can do to get help financially.

I am 6′2″ 215lbs and have what would be considered “Flat feet” ( I do not use Orthodics, never have). I have had MRI’s (arthrogram/Regular), x-rays, physical therapy, etc and nothing has worked and no one seems to know anything. Here are the details, if I rotate my hip out and in a circular motion I will get a click or crunch sound deep in my hip. When I am running, at the onset of hard acceleration my hip flexor or groin area will pop or snap, causing pain deep inside and basically stop me from accelerating. This will happen every time I accelerate hard. I would say the area of pain is located about 4-5 inches down and an inch and a half inwards from the front point of my hip that you can feel (4-5 inches to the right of bellybutton and an inch or so down) on my right right leg. It seems to happen less when I keep my abs flexed real hard and if I warm up and stretch for 20-30 minutes before this accelerating, but it still happens either way. I also experience deep pain in that area when performing the butterfly stretch. Its not the normal stretch type of pain.
I am wondering if I had some injurt that led to this? Someone mentioned an inguinal hernia before? How do you find out if you have one? I am I play a lot of sports and I can not play as hard or as aggressive bc of this injury. Any help would be appreciated.
For the past three weeks every time I’m reading, writing or focusing on something for more than a few seconds [basically anything that needs a little concentration], my eyes get blurry – but then if I blink a few times or just wait a few seconds my eyes go back to normal. It’s like when you look through a camera that has to be manually adjusted and the picture is out of focus. The longest it’s ever lasted is six seconds. Normally it’s less than three though.
There have been no changes in my diet, no weight loss or gain, no difference in my health since this started. I was in a bad car accident in May – but all surgeries, physical therapies and rehab have already been completed. I am still on pain medications, but only take them rarely.
I’ve had a cat scan and an MRI [since my doctor tends to over test for everything =D Not saying it's a bad thing - just saying]. Nothing has show up. I’m wondering if anyone has experienced this and what it ended up being? Or any suggestions on what it could be – if anything?
Please don’t tell me to see a doctor. I know that Y!A is in no way a substitute for a doctor or actual diagnosis, I’m just trying to get an idea as to what this is or why it’s happening. Also, as I mentioned, I have seen a doctor.
Thanks. =D
I fractured my ankle on October 3. I was in a cast for 2 months. I got the cast off December 2. Started physical therapy 4 days later. I have been doing physical therapy. I do the simple exercises every day and twice a week I do the full exercises. However, I get this pain in the back of my foot (where my Achilles Tendon is) and a bit on the inner side of my foot. I have to move my foot/ankle in a circular motion until it cracks and then the pain goes away. About 2-3 minutes later, the pain is back and the cycle begins again. Why? I am doing good with physical therapy. I broke my left foot, lower fibula (the ankle). It happened while playing soccer. I am a 12-15 year old female. The doctor said that it is just kinks in the ligaments from being stiff and should go away within a week or two after getting the cast off. Why is this happening? Please!
My son is 13 months old and about a month or two ago I started getting these really bad pains in my back. I have scoliosis and I had a spinal fusion to correct it. I guess the bottom where the rods weren’t placed has gotten worse. That isnt where the pain is.
Anyways…. My doctor said that pain is common after having a baby and is having me go into physical therapy. He says that if the physical thereapy doesn’t help then he wants to get a bone scan done to see if it is a “false joint”. I had my surgery five years ago this july.
I was wondering how common it is to have have pain after a spinal fusion and after having a baby when you have had the operation.
i realized when i keep my arm closer to my body it doest hurt as bad, but when i drop down side arm or 3/4 it hurts the most. Curves also hurt really bad, which was weird because i thought that mainly affected the elbow. Anyways i had an MRI and the doctor said nothing was torn, but just a lot of irritation and i went to physical therapy and that didnt help at all. It has been like this for about 3 years now.
