For Those That Have Experience Back Pain While Pregnant- How Did You Deal With It?

I am 17 weeks pregnant today. For the last 5 days I have had very bad back pain four out of the five days. I talked to my doctor yesterday and she suggested Tylenol and heating pads (both of which I have been doing the last 4 days) But my back pain is still rather
strong. I am getting very concerned since I have a toddler at home and all the regular duties as a SAHM. Just thinking about going through this for another 21 weeks is really worrying me. I don’t think I can handle it. So for those that have had chronic back pain- What helped the most? When did yours start? How long did it last? Did it last only a few days, weeks or the rest of the pregnancy.
My doctor also suggested that I get a Belly Band. I order that today but it will take about a week to get here. She also said that I could have physical therapy, but I really would like to avoid that if possible. Thanks for your help.

Chronic Pectoral/shoulder Pain With Normal Mri?

During a decline bench press two years ago with more weight than I could handle, I felt a sharp tearing sensation in my shoulder and pectoral muscle. There was no bruising but my lower pectoral muscle immediately looked slightly disfigured in the armpit. Since it did not look near as bad as any pec tear that I had seen online while researching them, I felt it unnecessary to see a doctor just so he could tell me to rest. After a week or two of resting I began to do light dumbbell work and it felt a little awkward, but seemed okay. As soon as I got to heavy weight though I felt another sharp tear. I visited an orthopedic surgeon who said my pec was partially torn, but should heal fine conservatively. I spent one year trying to rehab it with a physical therapist, but it constantly felt awkward with a constant numb pain. I revisited the surgeon insisting that surgical intervention was necessary (one year post injury), but the MRI came up normal. I got three more opinions after six more months with no progress. One said that nothing was wrong, just a pec strain, one said there was a tear at the muscle-tendon junction but surgery would be ridiculous since sutures don’t hold in muscle and the MRI showed the structures appeared to be intact, and one said that even though the MRI didn’t show much he believed the muscle-tendon junction was partially torn and surgery was necessary. The final doctor is in Boston though and the expenses are extreme making this not seem like a feasible option since three others recommended against it.
I am just curious why I would be feeling such constant pain and discomfort and be having trouble weightlifting during chest and shoulder exercises when the MRI didn’t show anything? This happened two years ago and it bothers me all the time. It is really effecting my life negatively and I am at a loss of what to do.

10 Points Best Answer! Benign Nods In Shoulder, With Pain Lasting More Than 3 Monthes, With Mri ? *?

i have had shoulder pain for more than 3 monthes after a swimming injury. i have pain in my shoulder before (even when not swimming) but i didnt take it seriously but after the injury it hurt enough to see a doc. i got x-rays done, been having physical therapy twice a week for 3 monthes and seen a sports medicine physician. i got a mri but my doc said its normal but i requested a copy and it stated:
-benign nodes in shoulder
- fluid in bursa
i have cracking, unbearable pain (with a high pain tolerance), and im on anti-inflammatories, and taping on shoulder but no less pain.
i am also worried because i have found a lump on my collarbone about 6 monthes ago, and forgot about it. now in the shower the other day i felt it and its gotten wayyy bigger.
could the nodes in my shoulder be cancerous? is the lump bad? its on the same side of my injured shoulder so could it be causing pain?
also, im only 13 so how do i tell my parents about the lump, they may not believe me. 10 points!

How Do I Break Up With Him Harmlessly?

I have this friend who I was romantically involved with and still am in a weird and unhealthy kind of way, we’ve been on and off for 5 years now. He is an alcoholic and just got out of rehab… he’s become a jerk, and no, I don’t mean now after rehab but a long time ago he kind of showed his real self and I want to end the whole thing but I’m afraid that’s going to make him drink again… everytime I suggest we should take separated ways he pulls that string on me and says that makes him want to drink. I don’t understand him, he acts like he hated me but doesn’t want to let me go, the only times that we get along is when we get physical.
I don’t know what to do or how to handle this situation. Needless to say I do care about him and don’t want to hurt him but his attitude has started to affect my state of mind. Any advice would be very much appreciated.

What Is Wrong With Me? Stinging “pins And Needles” Pain In Both My Calves.?

so to tell you a bit about my problem i’ll start with saying im a 15 year old female fairly healthy, a soccer player and had been going to physical therapy for about 3weeks earlier this month for what was said to be a “calf strain”. I am kind’ve worried because besides the constant stinging in the calves once in a while I would feel stinging in my hands. i never told my trainers though. I would describe the feeling as pins and needles. So i did some research and here are the things I think could be wrong with me.
-Claudication pain: “pain
that occurs in the legs when walking or exercising. It is usually the result of circulation problems which affects the flow of blood to the leg muscles. In severe cases, the pain may persist even when the patient is inactive”it doesn’t just sting during sports but outside of them like right now im on the couch.
-diabetes- because i also had been getting headaches and pains throughout body and other symptoms but my blood pressure is always normal so im not sure about this idea.
Peripheral neuropathy: Peripheral neuropathy is the term for damage to nerves of the peripheral nervous system, which may be caused either by diseases of the nerve or from the side-effects of systemic illness. Peripheral neuropathy is a common neurological disorder resulting from damage to the peripheral nerves. It may be caused by diseases of the nerves or as the result of systemic illnesses. (Source: excerpt from NINDS Peripheral Neuropathy Information Page: NINDS)
other info on calf burning-
Calf burning sensation (medical symptom): The skin sensation of partial numbness or “pins and needles” or a type of “burning”, “tingling” or “creeping” sensation of the skin, is known as a “paresthesia”. Symptoms may start as a tingling (paresthesia) and change to a numbness, or there may be a combination of decreased sensation (numbness) but with heightened sensations at certain times or with stimulation. Any type of tingling, burning, or numbness is usually a symptom related to a sensory nerve being damaged, diseased, or injured. Causes depend on the exact location of the paresthesia sensations, but typically include a physical nerve injury type condition (e.g. a nerve entrapment or some type of pressure being applied to a nerve directly or to the spinal attachment of that nerve), or a disease condition affecting the nerves (e.g. neuropathy, diabetic neuropathy, multiple sclerosis, diabetes, and others). Having these sensory symptoms in multiple locations, or the recurrence of similar symptoms in different locations is a hallmark symptom of multiple sclerosis, so your doctor will likely ask about the past history of similar symptoms to assess the likelihood of multiple sclerosis as a diagnosis (see symptoms of multiple sclerosis). Any of these tingling or numbness symptoms are more than just annoying; they can indicate a serious medical condition and require prompt medical diagnosis by a professional.

Back Pain Associated With Scoliosis?

when i was in the 6th grade i was diagnosed with scoliosis. i had to wear a back brace for 22 hours a day. i dont remember what the degree of the curve was, but i had to wear it through my growth spurt bc my spine is 3 in away from my heart, and it would have punctured my heart. well i got out of the brace 2 years later and felt fine. well over the past few years the pain has got rediculous. i have went to the dr and the dr has given me pain meds and i hate taking med and it didnt make things better, the only actual thing that has made it better is popping it. i know you arent suppose to, but it seems to be the only relief. if i am at work walking around all day and go to the bathroom, i cant stand straight back up when im through, i feel huntched over and in great pain, i have to go find a chair and pop my back to unlock my back which feels like it is locked up and thats the only way to unlock it. i cant afford physical therapy so that is out of the question, idk what else to do?
