I’ll try to keep a long story short. I’ve been having chronic (daily) headaches and pain in my neck, shoulders and back for about six years. After seeing several doctors I finally found one that is taking me seriously but it seems that he is lost. I’ve tried physical therapy, chiropractic, massage therapy, cortisone injections and a slew of meds. Nothing seems to be working. The only injury I’ve had was a very minor car accident about 11 years ago… I was rear-ended at about 10 miles/hour and had minor whiplash.
Has anyone else had these problems? Any suggestions on what I should try or a possible diagnosis I could research? I’m not a fan of taking random meds “just to see if they work” but that is what my doc has me doing.

I am a competive high level gymnast…i have gone to docters and chiropractors and they dont help…i take medicines and tons of crap…my back has been hurtin for nearly four years now…i have been in and out of a back brace during this time…yet my lower back still kills me…about 4 years ago i hurt my back and they said it was because my hips are uneven by 8mm, then my back got better by the next season…then my back started hurting again and we went back to the docter and they said i tore a ligament in my back…i went to physical therapy 3 times a week for 3 years and then stopped but my lower back pain keeps comming back!!! gah any help?
I am 31 and a while ago I was hit by a car and luckily only suffered a broken arm. I went for physical therapy after it healed to get range of motion back and I remembered being in a lot of pain. I can’t really explain it except it seemed to be in my elbow down my arm starting from from my shoulder from the back n even hurts my neck too. I told the DR he gave me pills and eventually it went away. It didn’t hurt for a really long time until just two weeks ago.
I had a pretty bad ear infection & eye infection that developed from an untreated sinus infection. I was home sick for a week and all of a sudden I wake up and have that same pain in my arm, shoulder and neck again. My mom said it sounds like bursitis. It goes away if I take Advil and not Tylenol. It feels much better after a hot shower too. Some days it hurts worse than other days. Some days I don’t even notice it at all! Other days the pain is so bad I don’t know what to do with myself that I have to walk back and forth and pace because the pain is so intense. I guess it gets aggravated by lifting too much or playing games and doing work on the computer. Now I kinda want to avoid going to the DR at least in hopes that it will subside again on it’s own. I have had the pain for two weeks now.
I just don’t know what could have made whatever this is flair up again. It didn’t bother me for so long, something to do with being sick? Or maybe the anti-biotics I was on? I was on three different ones. Also that day I woke up with it feeling stiff and sore, I cleaned out my closet lifted an AC and other things. Think maybe that contributed to it?
What does this sound like to you?
I’ve had pain in both of my wrists for at least five years now. My anatomy is a bit rusty, but I think it’s the ulna, on the outside of my wrist. It’s usually a constant and dull ache all of the time and if I do something stressful it gets really bad. I play polo and am not willing to give that up, however it kills my wrist every time. I wear braces or wrap it whenever I play, but the support does not seem to help.
It started with my left wrist. The doctors have ruled out ganglion (sp?) cysts and fractures and whatever else may be visible on an MRI or x-ray. The doctor called it tendinitis and sent me to physical therapy. I’ve been told that when a doctor calls something tendinitis it’s because they don’t actually know what’s wrong. I did six months of physical therapy for the left wrist and it did no good. The physical therapist said I had “loose joints.” A few months later the right one flared up as well, so now I have two crappy wrists.
So, my question, has anyone experienced or heard of this before? If so, is there any way to get rid of it? Even typing can set off the pain. I don’t think arthritis either, I’m 20.

What does this sound like to you?
I am a university student and I want to apply to professional school next year so I have decided to dedicate my summer to do volunteering work. I will be volunteering at a 2 week summer camp for kids with autism, as well as a Rehab Centre (physical rehab). I have tried to explain to my parents how important this is for when I apply to grad school but they just don’t seem to understand or care. My dad who lives in another country wants me to go visit him, but I can’t, and he doesn’t even believe that Volunteering is why I can’t visit him, he keeps asking “why don’t you want to come see me”, it’s getting really annoying and I just don’t know why they do not underderstand how important this is for me. How can I explain to them that this is something that’s really, really important? I mean I had to work so hard, attend interviews, ask for references etc. to get these positions and they are acting as if I just want to waste my time…
, instead she prescribed me physical therapy without taking any x-rays or anything. The exercises will temporarily numb the pain but the overall symptoms remain the same. Should I get a second opinion from another physician?
We have no formal or court ordered custody agreement, only a child support judgement. I have decided that until his father gets professional help for his alcoholism, that I will not allow him to take him from where we live, back to his home. He can only come here and visit with him. If he pursues this in court, do I have a right to request he have only be allowed visitation in my son’s primary home (mine). It doesn’t necessarily have to be supervised, just away from the alcohol.
