I’ve been told by my orthopedist that my knee is degenerating, so he decided that I would go to physical therapy for a month and if that didn’t make my knee stronger/better, then they would scope it to see if there was a problem that didn’t show up on the MRI. Well, I’ve been going for three weeks now, and instead of getting etter, my knee is becoming much worse. One of my therapists says that, because my numbers (in strength and movement) have been continually decreasing, I should go to the doctor now to have my knee checked and stop therapy. The other says that I should try and push through the pain and see if we can make my knee better and then go to the doctor if it doesn’t improve in one week. Which one should I listen to?
I’m pursuing a kinesiology degree (pre-physical therapy degree) and I’m interested in working with mentally handicapped patients. I’m having trouble finding information about possible careers and requirements. Are specialty clinics common (I assume so), and is a kinesiology degree (masters and up) all that is required?
Or is this more an occupational therapy type of job? The more I think about it the more I feel it is… However the only information I’ve found refers to it as physical therapy.
im not familiar with the details, the billing, the referrals, insurance. should i do my own billing, should i let the clinic, can anyone give me some info??

I dont understand my issues completely and yes I have asked my Dr. Disc herniation at L-5-S1, degenerative disc L3-L4 w/ bulge
old compression deformity at L4 superior endplate. My Dr. only does steroid shots and mild pain meds and therapy and I am only getting worse 24yrs old w/ 8week old baby and can hardly take care of him w/o crying. Anyone that can explain in plain english my problems and some good solutions that medicare can cover would be much appreciated.
