My mom who was 74 died last wednesday..She had empysema for about 10 yrs and for the last 6 yrs she had been on oxygen 24/7….She had been sick on and off since january and had been in the hospital in january for a week with pneumonia and then in a nursing home/rehab center for 6 weeks for physical therapy to get stronger so she could come home…She had been home for about 3 weeks when she went back in the hospital on april 1 cause she was sick again and week and could not eat…They took tests and found out that everything she ate and drank was going to her lungs..When she was in rehab she was getting her food soften in a food processer to make it easier for her to eat cause for months everytime she would eat she would start coughing…When she got home my sister who had always lived with her along with my brother in-law and my sisters daughter who also live there they would also put her food in a food processer…2 days before my mom died they put a feeding tube in her…

I’ve been struggling with my lower back/sciatica pain for about three months now. I’m 21 and am a pretty advanced weight lifter. It all started with a severe episode of sciatica down my right leg about three months ago. It was immobilizing and the most painful thing I have ever experienced. The doctors took xrays and said there was nothing structurally wrong with my back (no bulging discs or anything) other than some “mild scoliosis”. The diagnosed it as a lower back muscle spasms. I was given muscle relaxants and some physical therapy exercises to do at home. It took the pills and did the exercises and it seemed to go away for the most part.
When I came back from school I started working at my job which requires me to stand for 4-8 hours at a time. I work out in the morning and this seems to help the pain throughout the first part of the day, but towards the end of the day it gets very bad and it becomes very hard to stand. So basically it seems like the pain resets after I sleep at night and then gets agitated by standing for so long. Also, when my right leg starts to hurt during my day I start leaning on my left leg, but then the sciatic pain shifts to that leg eventually too which has never happened before.
I am scheduling a doctors appointment tomorrow, but I’d like to see if anyone has any opinions on what could be wrong with me. I’m getting very frustrated and don’t feel like I can take much more…
For the past 8 years, I have had chronic neck pain. Nothing that I can remember started it. My teacher called my parents telling them that she noticed me cracking my neck excessively in class. I had no idea I was. It was involuntary. For the next few years, I continued to do them. My neck was almost in pain 24/7 and when I cracked it, it would temporarily make the pain go away. A few years ago, the pain started to get very, very bad. When I bent my neck to the right the littlest bit, something would shoot down my arm, into my hand, and out my fingers that left them numb. Almost like I was being electrocuted. I’ve been in the hospital twice and to the doctor countless times and they don’t know what it is. They say it is nothing, but it can’t be. I am in pain almost all the time. A few months ago, the pain began to radiate down to my shoulder. I had multiple X-Rays, and then an MRI, which show’d nothing. The Spinal Cord was fine and the spine seemed to be fine, but the muscle’s were blurry. I was put in Physical Therapy and have been in it for the past two months. I have done all the excersizes, and all I seem to be doing is getting worse. The pain just puts me in a pissed off mood and makes me an asshole and its overall ruining my life.
I have absolutely no idea what I should do. What could be wrong?
They are pushing it. I bend my arm as far as it will go and she pushes it further and I am in agony. I tell her that and she just says you can do it. I am in bed when i get home and in extreme pain. Can I go to another place for physical therapy or am I stuck with this place. Please help I am in agony.
I had epidural 3mnths ago and doc put me in physical therapy and know my sciatica is worse. Been in pain over a week and doctor wont even give me muscle relaxers. I am afraid I am making my problem worse in therapy. any advice?
I started physical therapy for lower back, sciatica pain. I have a herniated disc also. Today, he just made me stretch a little, but after I left the place my back started to spasm and I have more leg pain. It is a LOT WORSE than it did when I walked in. & it hasn’t gone away since this morning.
Should this be happening? What should I do?
